A look at what lies ahead for China's Belt and Road Initiative

It's been 10 years since China rolled out its ambitious Belt and Road infrastructure and investment project, stretching across the globe. It paved the way for the expansion of Beijing's worldwide reach, while also offering a golden opportunity for lower-income countries. Today, the BRI spans three continents. It involves 147 countries -- two-thirds of the world's population -- and 40% of global GDP.

The BRI has distinguished China from traditional major powers. The BRI is a rejection of zero-sum confrontation, it is not even a "national strategy" by the traditional definition, nor a policy to serve the interests of only one country.

Hundreds of bridges, schools, stadiums, ports and government building were constructed during this ten years especially in Africa. Not to mention thousands of miles of rail track laid across Asian continennt and Africa. Compare to zero infrsyructure contribution from western nations in this ten years, BRI is a resounding success.

The director of pan-africanism today Akende Membe said this if you look at the Western and the imperialist countries they come with their own interests. The vice president of the U$ came to Zambia landed at a chinese-built airport in Zambia moved on a chinese-built road in Zambia.
It's it's ironic that Kamala Harris will travel to Zambia and tell zambians stop trusting the Chinese and having a relationship with them when everything that she has used in Zambia the Chinese basically helped build.

BRI had achieved in 10 years more than the western had achieved in a 100 years. What BRI had achieved included other countries that are deemed as poor and hopeless whilst the West had only prospered their western countries. Something CNA will not mention. Shame on you

Today the highway is finished and many other highways are being constructed and connected to it mainly to connect this main highway to the most important port cities like Béjaia or Jijel. But also just to connect even more cities to it like tizi ouzou, mascara and Annaba. Some of them almost finished.

it embraces the concept in china: if you want to be rich, first of all, to build roads.

i think it is like some countries cannot or don't have the ability to build trees. traditionally, the advance countries give them the fruit so that they rely on the giving, e.g. african. today, a country shows them how to plant trees, or plants for them, so that those coutries can have fruit themselves. and of course, the "helper" will share the fruits.

there is no conspiracy, or it is obvious. if the advance coutries want to replace the one country, they must provide equal or better offer. either ways, i.e. accepting either side's offer, those countries have the ability to plant trees and get more independent. for that reason, the advance countries need to use war cold or hot to disrupt that trend.

not sure what the result it is. it will reshape the world.

US and the west turns out victorious in the BRI. It's propaganda campaign frustrates China's development and links to Central Asia, Southeast Asia to the Mideast. Debt trap was a powerful fear instilled on the participating countries. Sadly these countries will not benefit from the infrastructural development that the west refused or unable to do. Laos, Indonesia and Sri Lanka have reaped the benefits, and probably Vietnam will be next. Mahathir ironically did the US a great favour by frustrating the booming Forest City project and the futuristic Melaka Port project, which could directly affect US interest in the US-friendly Singapore and its port and naval base which US military and naval vessels visit regularly.
