The opening of the January 6 select committee public hearings was dramatic and horrifying and impactful and enlightening.

This video takes on the following topics:

1. Why did the committee start with a video clip of Bill Barr's testimony?

2. What are the implications of Rep. Scott Perry and other Republican members of Congress seeking pardons for their conduct in connection with the events of Jan. 6?

2. What was the import and impact of Ivanka Trump's testimony that she credited Bill Barr that there was no election fraud over her father's claim that there was?

3. What is the legal and practical significance of Trump refusing to call off the attack and refusing to call for reinforcements to be sent to the Capitol to repel the attack?

4. What are the implications of former Vice President Mike Pence stepping into the void left by Trump and ordering reinforcements to go to the Capitol?

5. What are the consequences of Jared Kushner's testimony that he essentially ignored the threatened resignation of White House Counsel Pat Cipollone because Kushner was too busy cranking out as many pardons as possible before Trump left office.

And more.

None of them would need pardons if they weren't criminals breaking the law.

Stephen Colbert had the best line of the night when talking about Ivanka's testimony. He said “That must have been a bittersweet moment for the president, she finally screwed him".

The DOJ should challenge every pardon given to his co-conspiritors.

I'm not a Liz Cheney fan but I say she went for the jugular when she said, "To my Republican colleagues who are defending the indefensible: There will come a day when Donald Trump is gone, but your dishonor will remain."
💥BAM!💥

How in HELL is the media speculating that tRump might be allowed to run again in 2024? How is that even an idea in anyone's universe?

If the walking crime spree isn't held accountable after these public hearings then democracy in America is gone.

At least we know why Fox News didn't wanna air the hearing, they wouldn't have a Snowball's chance in Hell of defending any of it.

The refusal to stop people you send to inflict bodily harm on others - and the refusal to stop the destruction - isn't that murder?
Or at least manslaughter?

My understanding of conspiracy law is that when someone dies as a result of activities specifically associated with that conspiracy, all conspirators are held accountable for that death. Why haven't the words "murder" and "Trump" been used together in a sentence yet?

And those sitting members of Congress who were involved in the Scheme-- must be charged.

I think Liz Cheney is doing an incredible job. My favorite part of her comments was when she told Republicans that one day trump will be gone. But your dishonor will still be here .

It's despicable that the traitors in the Senate and House are still there and still getting paid by the taxpayers.

That female Capitol officer brought me to tears. I'll never understand how our country became so sick.

Pat Cippoline could have certainly stepped forward at Trump's second Impeachment Trial. He like so many other elected and appointed Republicans covered up for him! This is why I say we must hold these officials who took an oath to the Constitution accountable for their lack of truth by omission . This element of the crime is more important for the future of our democracy than Trump's incarceration.

Your followups are so important to us re the J6 Committee hearings. Thank you for your dedication. It’s really been an exhausting trek of real life insanity in transition. What we hold dear as Americans (the majority) is a much needed pivot to decency and truth to know we have not been forgotten.

Liz Cheney is on the right side of history on this matter. Her career as a member of congress is probably over because she has taken a strong stance against her own party. She is right and those who oppose her are wrong. She took an oath to the constitution which she is following. Good on her

Since 2016 as a European i have watched the unfolding saga of Trump as 45 President of the USA and genuinely felt that this man was utterly unfit for the President of the USA.During this time i have faithfully watched Glen Kitschner programmes and he has been a HERO to explain the problems with Trump to a World Wide audience for which we should all be most grateful.Thank you Glen for your programmes
