He didn’t flip him off, he flicked his wrist as to say dammit the curve. He threw him 4 curves

It kind of looked like finger guns in live time - like “ya got my partner!” - obviously not the case but I remember chuckling at the odd little moment

The Yankees reminded me of the Padres. All hat and no cattle. Bravado on steroids, but in the end, they didn’t perform. Dodgers 100% earned this title.

Wells tried to flip off Buehler but he choked and inadvertently flipped his thumb instead. It was that kind of night for the Yankees.

I’m a Dodgers Fan and from all indications, Wells seems like a stand up guy so I wouldn’t expect that from him. And even if he did, I mean at that point it would just be icing on the cake. Anyway good luck to everyone in the off season and maybe we will meet again next year New York. I’m talking about the Mets of course in the NLCS. I kid I kid…

When I watched this live, I actually thought he was giving Buehler a thumbs up for the the strikeout

Don't let this distract you from the fact Austin Wells has the best moustache in baseball.

No. It’s not right to flip the middle finger at the pitcher. The Dodger’s won fair and square. They were a better team. The best team won.

I honestly don't care. If you can make somebody mad enough. They start playing off of emotions. They probably aren't going to play as good. You see this in the fight world. A great example is Conor McGregor. He would say stuff that made his opponent so mad. They threw their game plan away and moved in with reckless abandon. Just trying to hit him.

Thank you for the info. It was definitely his thumb.

It looks like he went to do a “finger guns” thing towards Buehler. Like he was trying to say “nice pitching, you got me” but it seems like he decided against it almost immediately. Maybe knowing that it wasn’t a great time for that.

Only people you can flip off is the Astros

Not a yanks fan, but that doesn't really sound like wells personality. He seems to be a bit smarter than that and I don't see him doing that to other players unless the teams are about to brawl or something

He actually gave him props. Like saying (that was a nasty pitch) big man. That’s good sportsmanship from wells

Thanks, I kept telling my friends that it is not his middle finger…some folks want to make something out of nothing. It’s almost like he’s giving Walker a subtle thumbs up on a killer pitch. If he did, that’s what I would consider the paragon of sportsmanship. Fact is only Wells knows what he did.

I watched it carefully and if you slow it down it was his thumb. It really looked like he flipped him off 0:25

Tried to flip him off but his bat got in the way, got called for catcher interference instead.

If you look it is clearly his thumb. I am glad that Wells didn't flip him off. To me it looked more like a catcher giving a thumbs up for delivering a great pitch. I don't know if I am right or wrong but that's the way I wish to look at it.
