As a native Texan who travels throughout the country, I often travel to or through Oklahoma, and I've spent considerable time there. I have no issues with Oklahoma, except when the Longhorns play the Sooners. 😉 Oklahoma is a very nice state and a good neighbor to Texas. I think Oklahomans and Texans share a similar culture and values. All the best to my Oklahoma neighbors!!

This one hits home. I was born and raised in OK but I have worked most of my adult life in Texas and now live there primarily. I enjoy both states. Eastern OK is very underrated. Beautiful scenery and some really nice lakes and rivers.

I had a good friend in the military from Oklahoma. He did not use the name Texas. He called it Baja Oklahoma.

We live in Oklahoma, 30 miles from north Texas. When we retired, wife asked if I would consider Oklahoma. I said, Sure. Gets us out of California. We love it.

There are a number of places to visit in OK, but they don't get enough hype. Woolaroc in Bartlesville, the art museums in Tulsa, and the various Rte 66 museums as well as the Will Rogers museum (which really is a gem). The northeast part of the state is really very interesting.

Good thing you mentioned the friendliness of Oklahomans. I lived 8 years there and Okies are by far THE best-quality people I have ever met.

Oklahoma wins, and I live in TX. OK is what Texas used to be and thinks it is.

Everything you mentioned, to me, puts Oklahoma on top.

What is impressive to me about Oklahoma is the dramatic change in scenery over a short distance. It has so much in landscapes for a small state.

This was great! I think you should make it a series where you compare 2 states. Maybe Minnesota and Wisconsin next since those 2 should be more equal to one another

I live in Texas and I've been recently on a Route 66 trip driving through Oklahoma. it strucked me how clean was OKC (downtown area) and Bricktown of course is a great example of creating amazing tourist attraction. They also have the big Cowboy museum. I found Tulsa more entertaining because of lot of Route 66 attractions in the city and vibrant downtown with historic art deco architecture. Oklahoma has tons of Route 66 attractions and I think it should be more promoted cause this is a great reason to visit the state.

I’ve lived in both states, nearly half my life in each. I prefer Oklahoma and choose to live in Oklahoma. Texas is great for many many reasons but I like the culture and people here better. Both states are a mix of western and southern. But like old western, not anything like the modern day west.

Spending a lot of time around the southeast and several years in North Carolina, I think both states, especially Oklahoma, are very southern in culture, food, landscape, geography, etc. especially east of I35. Oklahoma is absolutely stunning with natural beauty in the eastern half of the state and the western half has some beautiful parts as well. The western half of course has cowboys and lots of open space. The eastern half is very hilly and has greenery and lakes and rivers and creeks everywhere just like the rest of the south. It even has some small mountains. Oklahoma also fits in culturally in essentially every category with the rest of the south, including college football.

IMO Oklahoma is a severely underrated state, but tbh I’d rather it stay that way and not be the exact same as texas.

Parts of Oklahoma are really nice, it's one of the states I may retire to in a decade or two.

Let’s also not forget to mention that the “attractions” in texass are HOURS of drive time in between.
And the traffic seriously sucks.

As a native Texan and now retired here this is where my loyalty lives. I worked a few years in Oklahoma, but it wasn't the same. Both have one major misconception among many Americans. They are neither all flat and dusty with strange little towns. Southeastern Oklahoma is beautiful. On a larger scale Texas has far more variety than most think, whth the Big Bend National Park, Gulf Coast, and yes real desert where you truly can see the stars at night. These two states have a long, friendly rivalry. We like that too.

Thanks for another great episode. I really enjoyed it.
As a 50+ year resident of Texas, I can say that I easily agree with your assessment of Texas & Oklahoma.
That said, one of my favorite things to do is to visit Oklahoma for some slower and quieter times. I have traveled extensively in both states, and could show you some stuff.

I was going to correct you on a couple of points concerning Oklahoma, but after careful thought I decided not to . Let ‘em all move to Texas

I've never lived in Texas but visited often when we lived on Fort Sill, Oklahoma. I absolutely loved both.

Oklahoma has some secret beautiful destinations and we rather keep it on the low unlike Texas. Texas is super huge so ofc it has desired areas and they have lots of people which is not everything for some people that love quiet and low traffic

My first critique of any of your videos: when you discussed percentages of race and ethnicity, you did not mention Native Americans. I'm willing to bet that Oklahoma has a larger population of Native Americans than Texas.
