Miniature Dollhouse Jars Kit #shorts

I have lots of projects planned ranging from abandoned miniatures, furniture makeovers, dioramas, accessories, kits and Dollhouse Miniatures in multiple scales. I also have a large Harry Potter build planned for 1" scale.

Some helpful tips for miniature boxes:

On such a small scale, you need to slice or file instead of scoring the concave side of a paper fold. Scoring does not relieve enough pressure to prevent splits and tears on the printed surfaces.

For gluing flaps closed, gently sand or scrape the flaps to half thickness first, on the faces that connect. This helps reduce puckering or bulging from excess material when glued.

Using fabric (textile) medium as a sealer on the printed side of paper boxes will create a small amount of flex and stretch to the print and prevent feathering of the paper fibers. You can get both gloss and matte textile medium so that your minis have a believable finish.

Weighted filler makes your minis sit in the shelf in a believably functional way. Sand or kitty litter mixed with wood glue makes an excellent weighted filler for mini boxes. Use WOOD GLUE not craft glue. Wood glue is designed to sit on top and grip, not penetrate fibers. If you want it to make a rattle sound, like for the pasta box, only fill the box half way with filler, allow to dry, then add the plastic pellets.

do you found it was sticky when the ink dry ? I use copic pen . when I touch the items, it was sticky .
