Earlier this year, on the 30th of March, I was in my studio, frustrated to my spinal cord on how far away I felt from the completion of my EP which is scheduled for release in September.

I had gone over the tracks multiple times but I still felt so disconnected. I had outgrown them but somehow I felt since these were the songs I said I was going to release, then I MUST release them. Exactly as they are.

Then it clicked. “Why not try creating something new? It’s like 2AM, so even if anybody will beat you, they no go don wake”

And so I laid the first drum pattern I heard in my mind and wrote exactly what I was feeling as lyrics:

“Empty notes, so what is the point of the Gbas Gbos inna my brain?…” and I went to sleep.

By the time I was done writing about 5 days later and recording vocals + instruments a few weeks after that, the song went from a simple expression of a depressed state of mind in my small studio, to a “Godfidence” chant that’s about to take over the world.

Arabambi is a Yoruba name interpreted in English to mean ‘the clan/kindred gave birth to this’, implying a person who is helped/backed/supported. In my case, supernaturally.
