I have a ‘97 Mexican telecaster I’ve had since ‘99 it pissed all over my old Gibson Les Paul custom which cost me over 2k! The Fender was a gift from my mother who is no longer with us, I will never get rid and have used it on all our recordings

Wow. I came here for a review of a Mexican Fender - wasn't expecting to see Ryan, an old friend from college!

I got a Mexican telecaster as my first electric guitar last year. I love it so much! So happy with my purchase and have so much fun playing it.

I agree. I think the Mexican telecaster is iconic. It’s a proper musicians instrument. From a musicians point of view There’s no need to spend more unless you want to . I have 16 guitars and some expensive

I own a telecaster parts caster and I absolutely love it. The telecaster is such a versatile guitar

I've got a 2007 Mexican STD Tele with a Bigsby bridge and Vintage Noiseless v4 pickups and it is one of my favorite guitars.

How to get a good deal on a guitar: Find a pawn shop near a casino.

My only problem with this video is that you called the dings "issues". I know taste is subjective but in my personal opinion roadwear is the BEST finish on any Fender. Something about a beat up strat, tele, or jag just feels right. Great video dude!

The discontinued 50's and 60's Baja Telecasters were by far the best guitar for the money. They have custom shop pick up and sound amazing. Really hard to tell the difference between them and American made tele's

Got my first Telecaster a year ago, a 2020 Mexican Player Telecaster. It's all I play now. I'm older and wish I'd had a Tele years ago, it just might have solved my GAS problem all these years with guitars. I just never had one, because I was always playing in heavy rock groups and I would've been ridden down mercilessly if I'd played a Tele in those groups. Even though a Tele works fine for hard rock...and in some ways it's actually *better.* The bridge single coil is as loud as a HB, and now you actually can have *tone* with your high gain.

I got one for $80 in 1998 at a Jacksonville pawn shop. It was left out in the rain and the electronics were roached. I installed Fender Vintage Noiseless pick ups and had it rewired (Chip's). A few years latter I added a Babicz bridge (the old Fender top load saddles kept flopping over when I hit it hard). Darn good guitar to tinker on and take out places I'd never take my American Strat out...but I'd be devastated if it got ripped.

I picked up a MIM tele, limited edition with the reversed knobs and selector switch and I love it. I’m toying with swapping the standard pickups of for Nocaster or Pure 52’s though in honesty the originals sound good to me. Any thoughts?

Dude, I have a Fender MIM player and I LOOOVE it, I have had guitars over 1k and I just keep going back to that particular Tele over all my other guitars. I truly think paying over a thousand dollars for a Fender is really quite exaggerated. The player just sticks out to me in so many ways, just goes to show that you don’t need an expensive instrument to get the sound or play how you want. I truly think I’m in love with my Tele 😂

I just got a CRAZY deal on a 4 month old Fender American professional telecaster for the same reason: the seller wanted cash today. He wanted to have a custom mandolin made, so I got a sweet deal and he got the money he needed to finish his mandolin. That's why I always have some money put aside for a really good deal on a really good guitar. Never know what you might run into. but none of it is money I've taken out of my household budget. It's all money I've made from buying/selling/trading guitars over the past 7 years, so at this point, it doesn't even cost me anything.

I'm seeing classic vibes going for 499$ around Boston and Providence now. That was my mim standard price a few back....

FWIW, I picked up a 2022 on sale about 9 months ago. The fret edges needed a little love, and I mean a little. They weren't slicing my hand open or anything like that, but they could have been smoother. Not surprising either since it went from Mexico (humid) to Maryland in the fall (dry). Neck shrinks, frets stick out. $20 tool kit and elbow grease fixed that. The only other issue I had was the tone knob was right up against the pick guard. Loosen set screw, move it a couple millimeters up the post and problem solved. It's an excellent guitar if you dont mind doing a couple tweaks, which I enjoy. It's truly YOUR guitar if you do some work on it. Great vid 👍
