He was fantastic in this movie! Its a shame he didn't have creative control after this was made. Some if his films were good. He was a talented natural actor

Elvis was evey bit as good an actor as the great Vic Morrow in this movie. With the right management he could have maybe been a Oscar winner I believe. He was a very high paid actor in his day, in the 1960's when John Wayne was getting $600, 000. per movie, Elvis was getting 1 million plus part of the gross! an unheard of fee at the time!

Please upload the scene in the Principal's Office. My favorite line from that scene is "I'm not a Hoodlum, but I am a Hustler."

you *notice* how *fast* Elvis moved and bragging intended, but *"THE TRUTH'S THE TRUTH"* <> the thing about it is... *I CAN MOVE THAT FAST OR FASTER. ~ ~ ~ Who said?...my dad: a U.S. Navy Seabee in the beginning of *The Cuban Missile Crisis.* Must run in the family...my mother told me over *20 year* ago that we were blood kin *Cherokēē Indian Blood Kin* to Elvis Presley on his mom's side... *AND MA HAD PROOF* ~ so... *THERE.*

Vic Morrow was a teenage delinquent in Blackboard Jungle, and here tries to put one on Elvis...BTW that HS (Homer Plessy) is STILL standing and here in New Orleans, the locals call it 'the King Creole school"..We just got our voter registrations in the mail, and when I told hubby the location of the polling spot, he said, "Oh, of course, the King Creole High.." LOL

The earlier films were really good. The later ones were awful. Always the same...no story except women being pretty dumb and stupid. He said himself he had become disillusioned with the rolls he kept being given.
