I read an article that says that this sloth sanctuary does not release healthy sloths and they are kept in small cages in back rooms, and are being basically neglected and abused, and I read this on The Dodo which is very reliable.

Whats the point of hurting sloths!? They are just trying to be happy! How does this even benefit you?

Sloths actually are like furry living ecosystems all by themselves! Algae grows on their fur and they are also home to "sloth moths" who call them home and drink their tears. But even more broadly, the point of sloths is to bring a sense of wonder, magic, and happiness to all other species. 1:23

As a result of their poor eyesight and energy-saving adaptations, sloths physically don't have the ability to move very fast. They can't run away from predators like a monkey would and instead, they have to rely on camouflage. 1:48
