I hadn't picked up a guitar for years and years. I used to play bass, but didn't mess with the six. But recently I decided I'm going to learn Cherub Rock. And now I'm back into music with a passion. Siamese Dream is a life saver.

David Gilmours tone on the wish you were hear album is probably the greatest thing my ears have ever heard.

What I like about Billy is his ability to experiment and not give a rat's left nut what people think. He's a pioneer and an explorer and doesn't work with what's popular. He's said many times he could do another SD but he doesn't rehash ideas like everyone else.

The whistle/harmonic sound you’re talking about is actually from a cheap stratocaster Billy was using at the time, he said something like how it was so cheap that when the gain was cranked so high it created that whistling sound as feedback when he would mute the guitar, so he incorporated it into the song

The notes you’re hearing in between stops aren’t harmonics at all. It’s feedback from having so much gain with cheap pickups. You’ll hear alot of that from the 90’s, but one of the biggest showcases of that is a Smashing Pumpkins song called "Drown.” It’s a B-side that was featured on the Singles soundtrack, and I recommend giving it a listen. I remember hearing it in the 90’s and being utterly fascinated, having never heard anything like it.

Also, on a side note, If "ALBUMS WITH IMPECCABLE TONE.” is a series, I would have to give an honorable mention to Peter Svensson’s tone on the song, “A Good Horse” by the Cardigans on their album Long Gone Before Daylight. I’ve never heard a Tele crunch like that and have always been chasing something close to it. It’s sick. HAVE A LISTEN. Thanks!

This whole album inspired the way I approach playing guitar and writing guitar riffs. It enabled me to be creative in my own way. God bless Siamese dream and the pumpkins

Siamese Dream’s tone (Mayonaise specifically) is like if a guitar was also a warm blanket

It was a cheap guitar from a pawn shop (or some shit) that would feedback every time you muted it.

It’s funny how people miss the double entendre and completely ignore the full name of the pedal…
It’s Big Muff Pi. That’s what it’s called. Not Big Muff.

For me it would be Wish You Were Here Pink Floyd, One Size Fits All The Mothers of Invention, Buena Vista Social Club Ry Cooder.

And probably another 100 albums 😅
