I couldn't believe have awesome Mr gasket aluminum gaskets are on my 390 AMX. When you tighten them down you can feel them give till they are tight. Mine were flat but I think they are pliable enough to fix that problem. Great invention.

For block+head aluminium, which kind of material head gasket is more suitable? Skim head + double head gasket better? Or skim head+head gasket better?

Great explanation . Ask Paul great idea. One question I wondered was is a cat back exhaust worth the money and hype for increased HP or just all noise ?

I have a 82 Dodge Mirada I just picked up with long tube headers and they were definitely warped and leaking like crazy.. so what I did for now is I actually did 3 gaskets on each side two paper ones and one copper gasket and it actually worked it doesn't leak anymore. I'm sure eventually like you say it might blow out but for now it works and this isn't really a daily driver anyways it's just for taking the car shows and Sunday cruises

Affirm. I agree. Just use a single gasket with some high-temp gasket maker/sealer, or just cut the secondary gaskets into individual pieces and use these like spacers for the manifold surfaces that don’t mate properly. Don’t use full double-gaskets.

After a recent oil change by the dealership suddenly entire oil started to come out and drained (they did double gasket!) I had no idea what kind of fluid it was and turned on the car running for about 10 minutes. Do you think running a car with zero oil would damage the engine if it runs even 10 minutes? Since it was the dealership’s fault do I need to ask for warranty in case something happens to the engine? If yes how long warranty should I ask? if the damage has already done should I ask for compensation? How much? I am a single mom and really worried.

Recently had my gaskets replaced. Hay had to machined down a tad, was out by 2 twelfths
