I wish we had used bookstores that give credit for bringing books in! We don’t have anything here in (not so) Great Britain.. 😭

Wow...I haven't heard anyone mention Bookmans in decades. I used to go there with my family all the time in Tucson as a kid, but (sadly) we moved away and the bookstore didn't follow us.

I live down in Tucson and we have a few Bookman’s here and they are AMAZING. I went to mine about a month ago (first time since lockdown) and brought in an assortment of fairly new DVD’s and books and got about 25 bucks but they only took a few things. I completely understand they have to be careful with COVID. Even the layout of the store was changed and SEVERAL book cases were taken out which means limited space and they can’t take in as much inventory. I am still a Bookman’s loyalist, they are fair with trade in credits and are incredibly helpful. I like to think of the yellow trade slip as my golden ticket!

So lucky you have nice used bookstores! Here on Oahu we have one used bookstore that also has used records, cds, and comics. It’s lovely but I definitely with there were more options.

So awesome to have not only a used bookstore but also one that gives store credit! We have neither where we live!

Your opinions on Under Heaven and the Summer book by GGK are giving me pause about picking him up. Hmmm.

Great video!

I normally take my books to HPB but I don't get much for them. I'll definitely have to try Bookman's in Phoenix!

I DnF’d the second era Mistborn halfway through the first one. It just droned on and on!!! You’ve motivated me to unhaul my uk editions too!

Corpse and Crown is so good! It is focused more on the roommate from the first one. I think you should read it.

I don't know any bookstore near my house that would do that, but I'll look more closely into it! I don't like accumulating books I don't plan on reading again or lending to someone, so yes, unhauling is quite important to me (I need my space back haha). I usually borrow books from my local library, and if I really love them, I buy a copy for my collection. I might buy a book if it's not available though, but only if I'm quite positive I'll want to keep it (or if it's really cheap). As simple as that. :) Now I have a list of at least 9 books I'd love to find in the used bookstores near my home. This video was perfect as I'm actually going to one of them now.
PS: Love hanging out with you! I'm quite new to this channel and I'm not a big fan of fantasy, but I guess I got attached to you (and your husband haha - his tastes are more in my alley, actually xD). <3

I love that you have a used book store so close to you. The one I use that is similar to yours is about 2 hours away. But it has both new and used titles and I have the option of store credit or less cash.

Although I felt the same way about Mistborn Era 2, I'm still surprised you're giving them up. 😳 Some people love era 2, so I'm sure they'll find a very happy home! By the way, these videos make me miss Bookmans!

I live 8 miles from a city, with University, population over 67k. Yet we haven't had a dedicated used bookstore in decades. A smallish regional Book/Entertainment chain began dealing in them the last years of its existence. Sadly, it went belly-up some years ago when corporate restructuring/reorganization unexpectedly fell through. Its stores closed that very day with no advanced warning. Heck, our one remaining conventional bookstore, a Barnes & Noble, was totaled during a tornado April this year (2020). We now have no bookstores whatsoever. As to book hauls, I can't see myself doing one unless forced by financial catastrophe. I did one during the mid-late 1980s, got next to nothing for the forty books I traded in, and regret it to this day. Oddly, the 'one' book I can get rid of without remorse is an extra copy of Guy Gavriel Kay's "Tigrana". I've no idea why or when it came into my possession. Otherwise, Kay would be almost the last author I would part with if forced to thin out my library.

To bad about Dresden the later books have a big change of tone. However I understand there is a lot of books to read and shelves space is limited.

I love an unhaul lol We only have 1 used book store here, so I am a little jelly haha I have been waiting to take my books in until they will take more than just 1 small bag so i now have a huge box waiting to leave me haha.

I really do love seeing how much you got in credit because I feel hope now!

The 2nd Era Mistborns kinds make me sad though haha I like the 2nd era, but haven't read the 3rd one yet... I want the American hardbacks though to go with my Era 1 books :) I do agree that they aren't my favorite Sanderson books though.

I am debating unhauling Serpant and Dove too... I DNFed the book like 50 pages in and keep thinking I will get into it but then I'm just not interested lol
