This video is a little tribute to the Peugeot 206 WRC.
The first prototype of the car was made in late 1998, starting from the production model. The car started its adventures in the WRC in May 1999 during the Tour of Corse. But Peugeot officilay annunced that their car would compete in 1999 in order to finish its setting up and would head for the WRC manufacturer's title only in 2000.
The mission was a complete success: in 2000 Peugeot managed to win the WRC manufacturer's title and, thanks to their great work, permitted to Marcus Grönholm to win the 2000 WRC championship.

The car is moved by a 2.0 4-cylinder turbo charged engine with a power (limited) of 300 Bhp @ 5250 rpm and a torque of 635Nm @ 4000 rpm. Full time four wheel drive (with a 50%-50% F-R torque distribution). For the transmission, it has a fiive speed Peugeot/X-Trac non synchronized, sequential shift gear box.

Peugoet wanted to bring the 306 for they WRC entry in 1999. But Peugoet Sport wanted the 206, but it was to short for FIA WRC length regulations. So they just made huge front and back bumpers to get the length they needed. And as we now, IT WAS THE RIGHT DESICISION TO USE THE 206 INSTEAD OF THE LONGER 306!!! Peugoet Sport was so genius, one of my favourite WRC cars ever. Great tribute, great video and great sound, usual BOZZY quality :D

This car was the World Champion WRC car 3 times following in 2000 & 2001 & 2002!!!
This is one of the greatest Rally car ever and again a French Rally car in the TOP of History of the WRC ^_^

its normal in a 206 shooting like that. i have a 206 1.6 16v stock, i just removed cathalitic converter, central muffler and put a flowmaster 40series in the back, and also i installed a k&n conic intake filter, and its just enough to hear and see those backfires !! its crazy !!
