Good evening Netscape Navigators. Let's talk about Bluesky.
I’ll walk you through the platform, talking about its potential to be more than just another Twitter replacement. With everything going on in the world of social media—especially with Elon Musk and Twitter making waves—I’m exploring why Bluesky might actually have a shot at sticking around when so many other platforms have come and gone.

Through the power of animation, let's take a look at what makes Bluesky unique, from its decentralized approach to how it might offer something new for users looking for a better social network. I’m also diving into why this invite-only platform might actually avoid the fate of the countless social media fads we’ve seen before.

This isn’t a deep dive into the technical side of things—just a simple, fun exploration of why Bluesky could be worth checking out, especially if you’re tired of the drama that’s been happening on Twitter lately. 🌐✨

So, grab a seat, relax, and let’s see if Bluesky might just be the social media escape we didn’t know we needed.

🔎 Keywords: Bluesky, Twitter, Elon Musk, social media, Twitter alternative, Bluesky app, invite-only, decentralized networks, exploring the internet, social media platforms, future of social media, digital freedom, social network, Twitter replacements, Elon Musk Twitter

I've literally never heard of blue sky before in my life, I thought this video was about the movie studio

We're trying to build a culture there, one that isn't like the current twitter. Like if Twitter WAS the town square, then Blusky is more like the local park where everyone can enjoy themselves, relax, and still catch up with one another as we sit on a bench.

I'm not interested in blue sky because I cant stand the idea of a social media site where people go because the people they like are not in power. I want to be challenged intellectually and see a dentifrice of views. I don't want another site where people who cant stand seeing people with different opinions go and also I don't think its growing as big as many think. Ya they may get millions of sign ups but does that reflect how often people use it. How many people are gonna try it then drop it after a weak and go back to twitter.
I feel this also harms twitter because these people are removing there ideas from the biggest social media site and moving to where people already agree with them. Its the ultimate eco chamber.

I recently made a Bluesky account and this video appeared on my recommendations. Also, I think Bluesky is more chiller than Twitter.

Why does anyone "want" a new Twitter anyway? At it's best, Twitter was a nothingsite where people posted about the shit they just took, and at its worst, it's Twitter.

0:31 I must address 2 news that you used as a way to say "twitter bad"

"Twitter/X Will use your posts for AI Training and there's not opting out"
You can literally opt out of twitter AI training and there's an option on grok, at least they are transparent about doing it in the first place, in the other hand Bluesky can literally sell it to other companies, either way, you cannot choose to opt out on Bluesky

"Blocking of Twitter in Brazil"
Hundreds of thousands of Brazilians literally protested against the ban, and they didn't protest against Elon, they protested the guy who did the block, the government =/= the people living there, also as for today, Brazil lifted the ban and now Twitter is accessible, all of this happened because the Brazilian government wanted private information about certain users to persecute and potentially put on jail, that pretty authoritarian and overreach of power

Ain't defending Elon on certain things but ignoring the context of this two news just because of "Elon bad" it's pretty disingenuous, you have all the right to chose whatever platform you want to be but if you base your decision entirely on emotion like it happened to a lot of twitter artists when the AI training hit the news and delete everything, you will need to start from scratch

Also, even if you hate twitter, let's not forget that the literal President of the United States Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race on Twitter of all places, not a press conference, not in front of cameras, he chose twitter of all the options

The only reason why I like Twitter is that it is the only place where you can bully politicians, and you will not get banned

It’ll probably be in a bit of a limbo before it ether does die out or it develops it’s own culture like other sides. Wich they do all have. For example, you can tell when an artist started on tumblr or if a guy arguing mostly does so on Reddit. Both redditors and twitter users are absolutely awful to argue with but they do it differently. Websites even have different accents. Whilst an insult on 4chan might use the worst of the worst swear word, an insult on tumblr is usually one you’ve never heard of before.

Im honestly on the fence on wgether or not I should try Bluesky for myself. Aside from YouTube or Discord, I never really dabble into that kinda social media, but BlueSky seems like a breath of freash air at the moment.

I have never heard of Blue Sky but I don't see it taking Twitter's place anytime soon

I’m curious if it will keep growing at the current rate or just stagnate, it’s always pretty hard to believe a platform will flourish when a lot of people are moving there because of drama, and yeah a lot of people are going there strictly to avoid drama, but I’ve seen more than a few people and friends going there just to do what the video said: complain about the current problem and move on to somewhere else

I hadn't use twitter since late 2019 and I'd never touch any of the alternatives, but I heard/seen enough good things about it from content creators I liked over a fairly long time period so i gave it a shot and so far it's been pretty chill.

I think that social media sites are just an inherently bad concept. Like, obviously all the major ones have their own fixable problems, but from that perspective Tumblr is probably the best in terms of the site's actual design and it's still essentially an addictive feed of everything that everyone you follow posts - which sounds good on paper, but in practice there's a certain weight to following your friends, which causes issues if they post stuff you don't want to see, which just isn't an issue elsewhere, and that's before you get into all of the guilt trippy posts about politics and stuff, callout culture, the almost exclusive focus on American news and politics, and the fact that these sites are commonly used by teenagers. It's really hard for everybody to stay in their lane when they're all designed to interconnect, and given how omnipresent social media - particularly Twitter - is, I feel like it's genuinely concerning how little the idea has been raised that the very design of the websites themselves has done everybody a little bit of bad that went a long way. They simultaneously encourage hatred and hostility to fucking everything both off and on the website but also hiveminds and groupthink of trying way too hard to prove their collective superiority that just leads to everybody turning on anything that gets popular in under a week for being "overused" and blaming it on everybody else liking it too much, trying to blame everything for why the internet isn't fun anymore except for the designs of these damn websites tricking them into thinking they need to use it to keep up with everything like everybody else even though there are other, better ways of doing that.

Bluesky helped me reduce the amount of time I spend online. I was very active on twitter for over 3 years from june 2021 to august 2024, but then my account got banned for no reason. I made a second account but nobody seemed to find it, so I decided to take a fresh start where my friend recommended me to - Bluesky. Since bluesky is more calm and charming, my interest to check up all the time shrank, until I just didn't care at all.

ive only been on bluesky for about 5 days but so far it been amazing it feels normal like i can see people just post about random stuff the best way i can describe it is twitter is like white noise just constant sound and anger and people are always trying to get your attention to see there shitty joke but bluesky feels calm its like as for once you can sit down and actually take in new information and have a conversation with other people it feels like people care on bluesky while on twitter they don't
