“Roscoe” is a track from @midlakeband’s 'The Trials of Van Occupanther', showcasing the band’s signature blend of rich harmonies, lyrical depth, and cinematic folk-rock sound.Dive into the world and experience the textures, stories, and emotion that define Midlake’s music.

This video was shot on an absolutely beautiful piece of land in Oxfordshire, England while on tour in Europe. We only had a day to shoot the video, so time was of the essence. We had worked with Dan before with Kingfish Pies, and loved his work on that, but didn’t have the chance to actually be a part of the video like we did with Roscoe. It was an enjoyable process for all of us to dress up and ‘act’ together. The last scene where we’re all having a feast was quite nice. It was the end of the day, and although we were tired and hungry, I thought it was a perfect way to celebrate the days work. So don’t be fooled by the acting, the jubilation and hunger was pretty genuine. – Eric Pulido

When they got here, all exhausted, on the roof leaks they got started - and, now, when the rain comes, we can be thankful ❤

I'm the guy who bought the only Midlake hat at St Louis May 2022. Criminally underrated band.

So this is a “perfect song”. I can only paste here what I just wrote to a lifelong friend in the style of JD Salinger, seemingly: (ehem): “I sometimes fret that I will pass on unexpectedly before I’ve made sure that you have heard and appreciated this song. It’s really important!
My friend Giovana is suddenly in ICU on ventilator, with poor prospects, and I don’t think I ever forced her to hear this song! I’m just saying, that this song is essential, and I’m genuinely curious if you grok it?!
The ugly truth is - don’t know why it’s so goddamn perfect ! It just is. It comes across like a boring chapter section from a history textbook, if you actually just read the lyrics, yet it’s so terribly emotive, and flows like a rushing brook, that you just want to follow along into its direction. “
It truly reminds me of the feeling I get from the poem “Song of the Brook” by Alfred Lord Tennyson - (you’ll thank me for the reference)
ps. if anyone can indulge me in the narrative of this songs creation, I would clap and squeal with glee. How did this narrative turn into this song? Who was enamored with the context and how? These things are my version of precious jewels in life.

Just heard/found out about you guys on the KUTX Austin Studio recording. Listened to 3. Beautiful meshing of sounds you have. New yet classic - nostalgic... Got that timelessness. You tapped in. Hope to see you through all the way. ✨Something special.
