The Strider will eventually become visible again.

Striders don't die when they are out of lava. However, they will die in contact with water including rain, splash water bottle (or whatever it's called).

I remember a while back I used command blocks to make the strider invisible forever and make the rabbits constantly teleport to the strider to make the rope move.

For those who play with cheats and want a perma inv strider give the strider a nametag named "swing" then use the command /effect @e[name=swing] invisibility 255 true

I would improve this in 2 ways
1. Replace the strider with a pig, us commands making it ride a chicken or another pig if it’s to short (or possibly something larger) this way it won’t die when it rains.
2. Use commands to make the pig permanently invisible instead of bottles.
Also name tag all the animals so they don’t respawn.

When in doubt, make a dispenser next to the swing and place a button on top of it to fire the splash potion before it runs out… or whenever you want to use the swing.

For maximised immersion, put a mini auto-brew system that makes invisibility potions and splashes the strider automatically.
