Toby, I enjoy the fact that you sail these boats and show what they’re capable of. A lot of the boat tours I see the vendor just walks through and shows the rigging and interior. Thank you for being so thorough.

Proud to be Slovenian. And my father actually worked in Elan since 1978.

Really appreciate this video as so much attention is paid to the actual feel of the boat, the look in areas such as the salon and cockpit. So many videos are just close up direct camera shots of every surface of the boat, while missing the actual views and feel of the areas where are spend most of your time.

Beautiful design elements. Really think it is beginning the Porsche styling tag. The details really to all come together I find, to give it a very unique look. Thank you for the tour.

Kind of fascinating, a proper walk through ‘ interview’ with the boat, thank you T.
It’s so far removed from anything I have ever ever sailed ! I would need to see out to remind myself one is afloat, possibly less so on passage I dunno ..

Looks amazing, GREAT HARBOUR YACHTS nailed it. Commissioned a new boat in a crazy covid world on time, that must be one thrilled owner. They even arranged sunshine in Scotland for Toby to do the review.

Nice work Theo and Pete.

Can I come and sail on her next summer....
Il do the dishes🙂 ?

Did I see Simon Lebon’s old boat Drum in the background? About 27:00?

I would love to see Toby have reviews of this length in all sailing yacht reviews. Yachting World, together with one other periodical is the only channel I am aware of which prepares professional sailboat reviews **including** the sailing characteristics. All others are more walkthroughs (they are also nice in their own category).
Having said this, I am not a Yachting World subscriber and I am not paying anything for these reviews whereas Yachting World has to pay Toby and other employees. Therefore it is quite understandable that YW might be leaving the juice to the printed publication.

On the other hand, in recent times, quite a number of Youtube channels on sailing boat walkthroughs have popped up, some with subscribers in hundreds of thousands. There is certainly a revenue-model there, though I do not know if it has the potential of compensating the revenue which would potentially be cannibalized (from printed material) with longer youtube reviews. I'd like to think that would be similar to the trap brick&mortar businesses have fallen into underestimating the potential of internet in the early days and giving Amazon and others the lion share of the market later.

Anyways, thank you Toby for the great reviews.

I would expect more of a racing yacht from a boat that slapped the Porsche name on it.
Anyway it's nice to see a new video Toby. Hope to see more.

Nice review, new format? I hope this continues
Interesting boat from what is a design house, a lot of things that work, a few really odd things like the window heights
I liked the galley forward which seems to take up a mere 4ft or so of boat length or interior
Ive not seem the electrical switches before, so not sure where they come from
Strange black appliqué on the rear of the coach, doesn't seem to do anything
maybe next time ;)

Great review, thanks Toby. Always good to see and hear what you've read already on paper. Blimey! The Clyde's like GLASS!! Silly question: How do you get rid of cooking smells when there appear to be no opening hatches anywhere near the cooker....?

I'd buy it if I had the money but I would modify it by adding Solar Panels or flexible solar panels to at least 1 Kilowatt and a few pole-mounted Wind Turbines on the back for wind power.

Just did a delivery of a 505Hanse & the not one tail locker, ropes from everywhere, pain in the ars & sliding F/F that we had to tack to open, to heavy & dangerous in any sea way ? Any 50 footer should have a optional hard dodger, cant be that hard ?
