I always love the surprise when people realize how expensive things are. As a musician, people often thing a tenor sax costs a few hundred dollars.... Cheapest student model you can get before taxes is $1600, for professional models brand new your looking at a few thousand or more.
A new mouth piece? Anywhere from $30 to $300.

One piece of music for the whole band (wind symphony or orchestra), about $100 for one piece of music, then your supposed to buy original parts for every member in the band (some people will photocopy the originals, but your technically not supposed to)

My dad bought me custom skates for Christmas (last pair he’ll buy me) and they were $370. Hella nice boots, abec 9 bearings, great wheels and toe stop
I love those skates more than anything

for your first skates, just get some decent ones secondhand. i got mine for 20 bucks when theyre usually 60.
(get them from someone who realized the hobby wasnt for them, not very worn-out ones)

I remember a customer got on the ice in a pair of ice skates they bought a week before for £40 and the skates just crumbled into oblivion the only part that stayed intact was the metal blade. They weren’t even overweight they were tiny lol
