Too much wrong for one comment. One area is energy ...

They say it will save fuel. But the arm will have to be spun up and slowed down - that will take energy even if they use regenerative braking. The projectile will have to be counter-balanced with something like a detachable weight - there is a doubling of the energy cost that is hard to recapture. The payload will have a large amount of rotational momentum - something will have to stop that, wasting that energy. The payload will have to be surrounded by a streamlined shell - throwing that upward is more energy that is not devoted to payload. Any excess weight in the streamlined shell will radically increase costs throughout the system, so they will always be trying to skirt the edge of failure.

I'm waiting for #SpinLaunch to build their full size suborbital accelerator at a diameter of 33 meters. That's an extra 21 meters on top of there successful prototype at only 12 meters in diameter. Keep in mind, for the payload to achieve the desired speed at launch, which is said to be around 5, 000 mph, the accelerator would have to spin the payload at a whopping 1300 rpm. That's wicked fast!!💯🤯💯
