First time I watch this movie and this is, by far, the best rendition of the Zorro I have ever seen. I think this movie would inspire a child Bruce Wayne far more than the rest, not for some kind of snobbery but the protagonists look bigger than life, and the battle for Los Angeles is quite raw, you can feel how much the people endured, all the actors are memorable. Fantastic, it is what I want to feel when I watch movies.

My wife and young son just watched this together for the first time. Loved it! I think we'll go out to the city now. It's a nice night, and I just got her a lovely pearl necklace. I'm sure the butler can take care of things while I'm gone.

I bought a DVD of Mark of Zorro several years ago, and I play it occasionally! I simply love it! Tyrone Power made an excellent Zorro, and he was sooo handsome! Linda Darnell was so lovely and feminine! One side of the DVD is colorized and the other side in black and white!

I agree this 1940 version is the best Zorro outing ever. Pity that the sound seems to come through a filter and a diagonal strand of light never leaves the screen. At any rate, thanks for posting

Linda Darnell is was soooo beautiful! She had such a poignant, sincere sweetness about her. This role really brought it out. How wonderful that her beauty is forever preserved on film.

This is the best of the Zorro movies. Tyrone Power was excellent as Zorro, and Basil Rathbone always played an excellent villain when he wasn't playing Sherlock Holmes. Did you know he was one of the best swordsman in Hollywood, but being the villain he always had to lose to the main star, such as Errol Flynn in his movies, or in this case, to Tyrone Power. Now Errol Flynn made some good swashbuckler movies. Heroes Zorro and Robin Hood both stole from the greedy, corrupt local government officials, and gave the money back to the overtaxed peasants which was rightfully theirs.

Pro tip! Set the speed to 1.25x and it'll play correctly. Won't solve the audio glitches, but beggars can't be choosers. And if you're not a beggar, this movie is absolutely worth buying and rewatching so... go do that.

This is by far the best of the "Zorro" movies but this upload is far from the best upload! Although since as of now this posting appears to be the only posting "upload" of this movie so far it's better being able to have this really good Zorro movie here for viewing although hopefully there will eventually be a better version to view.

This has always been my favourite Zorro movie. Wonderful how Tyrone Power fools them all for so long as an effeminate dandy! I have always remembered that. So handsome!
