That’s how you properly install the timing belt! Recently our local Ford dealer replaced the timing belt on our 2016 Ford Focus as they were able to do it cheaply while replacing the failing coolant pump however they incorrectly installed it so the timing was off. Pretty much we had to return it to the dealership as it had symptoms of bad engine timing and that’s when they offered to reinstall the timing belt free of charge under warranty as it had originally not been installed correctly! :)

Read the box don't kink belt smaller than smallest pully, also a subaru can bend a valve if procedure isn't fallowed and it's off by one tooth

Do NOT do this. Can permanently stretch the belt, use the tensioner.

Works great until you forget it's there. Then your timing skips a tooth. It will also stretch your belt over time. Making it wear much faster. Please don't do this.
