Great video, Nour! Political systems are definitely an easy topic to overly complicate, so this was nice to watch. This is something I’m still working on in my own story, as far as scope goes. I like the idea of city states in a world where larger bodies of government exist.

I took a class in high school on comparative government. It was certainly interesting.

Thank you I really needed this for my story is made with a fantasy politics of mayors (local government/leadership) and Leaders (kind of like a president)! There are four towns stitched together with one mayor for each one and every three years they go through Leadership Trials (similar to elections but with a twist) that determine which one will be fit for the challenge of handling the responsibility leading all four towns and mayors together.
It’s like a local government and democratic government but mixed and meshed together in a more simplified form that still makes sense.

In my writing, I took inspiration of using the Political Triangle system, making a high stakes rock-paper-sissors for the characters as they make their decisions.

I have like- a Feudal type System in my Story’s Empire

So at the Top, you have 1 big Emperor who rules the entire Empire
Then, you have 2 Grand Moffs, who rule over the Eastern and Western part respectively
Each of these Grand Moffs have Moffs that rule over “states” within these sections.
And finally- you have Demi-Moffs, who rules over towns or groups of towns.

I think it’s a neat little thing.
