My mom made the best broccoli soup
She used milk, onion, carrots (for color she would say) sometimes she'd add cheddar cheese. I don't remember what she used to thicken it, maybe some flour. No salt. I grew up in a salt free house. Mom was an excellent cook and baker.

You don't need to add salt. The Velveeta and canned soup are full of sodium!

I quit using cream of crap soup 50 yrs ago. Frozen broccoli? USE FRESH, more nutrients. EVAPORATED milk? Use fresh whole or half n half
