This is BMW’s all-new, all-electric SUV, the iX3!

Excited already? Well, you’ll have to hold your horses - it’s not going to be available until Summer 2021! However, we’ve been lucky enough to get our hands on a press car to show you just what you can expect from BMW’s all-new EV.

When it comes to the design, you won’t be surprised to hear it doesn’t veer too far away from the regular X3. There are smatterings of blue across both the interior & exterior, along with a new grille (no need for the regular vents, after all) and a new bumper at the rear.

On the inside, you’ll be glad to hear not too much has changed - a good thing, given how popular the regular X3 is! However, being a new car, it’s also been updated with the latest BMW infotainment system. In terms of performance, the iX3 is powered by a single, rear-mounted motor (that can produce 236hp and 400Nm of torque), along with an 80kWh battery pack.

But can it outperform class-leaders like the Mercedes EQC & Audi e-tron? You’ll have to keep watching to find out!

I think without it being blue people won’t know the electric version exists. It attracts attention and eventually they can go away from that once people recognize them as having electric options.

The lack of effort in the front engine bay shows how little effort they put into that car... such a waste of space!

after having checked several reviews of the IX3, I have to say that this car is one of the most efficient EV' s on the market. I am very surprised you scored such a bad result. I believe that this car can really score the WLTP range of 460 km at a speed of 130 km/h on the highway. Even smaller cars use 4 to 5 kw/h more at this speed. Please consider also that the outside temperature has a major impact on the consumption. Otherwise the sound and the blue color do not need to be ordered, you can order the car without them.

Totally unnecessary to make electric cars look "special". I don't want to look like I've riced my X3

Not my thing but I like that this is a just a car that happens to use electric. Unlike EQC etc. it doesn't look like it came from space. Just a regular x3
