The Caspian Sea is a lake but it was called Caspian Sea because a Greek philosopher named it after the people who lived in the Caucasus region, The Caspian people.

Caspian sea is a lake and it's connected to a larger body of water by rivers. Seas like sea of japan, Mediterranean sea and black sea is all connected to a larger body of water by straits. Rivers and straits are different things

Guys 2 things,
landlocked means not having access to the ocean, the Caspian sea is a lake.
Double landlocked means being landlocked while bordering only landlocked nations, so china Monaco Andorra Luxembourg ect. Aren't double landlocked

For anyone who wonders why caspuan sea is called sea that is because in ancient era when people (ancient Greeks if i am not wrong) discovered it and since it is so huge and they hadn't know about it being land locked they called it a sea
