you can use the fingerprint sensor as a home button, and it has gesture controls, swipe left for back, right for recent apps

Eber this is perhaps my favourite vid from you man. Production and polish was just bumped up a notch and super engaging. The pace, length and points covered were perfect for me for a phone review. Well done!
Pretty compelling product - I like the modular aspect especially the speakers as everyone buys a bluetooth speaker and power bank anyway. With the game pad - this makes the perfect travelling companion.

IMO the Xiaomi A1 might be a better choice. Similar specs at half the price and faster Android updates (but no modularity)

This whole review was made worth it by that simple shot where he flipped the battery in his hand and it switched to the speakers. Bravo

If you are looking at phones in that price range, don't overlook older flagship phones. I honestly could not see upgrading or replacing my note 5 until it breaks, for me it is such a good phone.

With that said, the phone featured i this video is pretty nice, but all of those mods are just too much, I don't need all of those extra accessories to keep track of, although I can see for the right person it could make sense.

I have been using the moto z2 Play for a month. And since this is my first android, I got very good experience using this smartphone. Good battery life, got lot of memory, and fast charging. it has been supporting my daily life.

I agree with you about the camera. Yes its not the best camera. 12mp with no optical image stabilization, might not for you who love taking videos. but for you who just need to take photos for you to keep, its more than enough.

Since I bought it on promotion, I got free style cover, and side aluminum cover and its free. so camera bump is not very much a problem.

I saw this phone on the shelves and I LOVE the modularity. That JBL mod is freaking awesome. It is a great idea, I just don't think people are ready to be forking out the kind of money that would be needed to mod it the way that they like it. We would have to be eased into it. People pay for the expansions on games now when all they did at the beginning was complain. So this may very well be the phone of the future, but right now, I don't think people are that impressed.

I just got my new Motorola z2 force in yesterday! Best phone I have ever owned! I'm coming from the Galaxy. It's super fast and takes amazing pics. The front camera even has a flash! It has the top of the line SnapDragon processor. It's OC'd by 100mhz to be faster than the Galaxy S8.

Everyone negatives the camera bump, but you are never intended to use this phone without some kind of "back" that hides the camera bump.

Most of these phones come with a non-feature back plate or there are many colorful options out there. This adds a little "thickness" without adding much weight, and covers the camera bump.

Most users would also just run with an extra battery mod, which also covers the bump and gives a bit of thickness.

I totally agree with the rest of the review, all the Moto Mod phones are great for features and base function, but a little high priced for the paper specs. And the camera does not match the competition.

I own the Moto Z and for how much I got it for brand new from Amazon, I really can't complain, Its a good lightweight reliable phone that does everything I need it to. 64gb internal with an external sd for 399? couldn't beat that. Oh and it was unlocked so even better! My only issue was no headphone jack :( but I made it work.

Hey there Eber:

One thing that you failed to mention that Motorola actually combines the phone speaker with the call speaker meaning surprisingly great call quality. pretty much anyone with any phone will sound pretty much like he or she will be in the same spot as you as if he or she came over to your current location. that is how clear the call quality is. I know cause I have the Moto Z1 which is one of the best smartphones to come out late last year.

I could forgive the price tag for the phone but the mod's just dosnt make any god damn sense, especially we cant really count on motorolla to countinue this moto mod trend now that its owned by Lenovo.

I like modularity and compared this to the LG G5, this phone is way better. But IMO, modularity must be accompanied with variety and affordability. This requires a lot of many other 3rd party manufacturers to participate to grow a community and reduce the price. An example is like if graphics card do not have MSi, Asus etc to participate in making other variants, Nvidia and AMD would manufacture it themselves and it would cost a whole lot more due to manufacturing costs and competition.

Unfortunately, one thing to consider when buying a Motorola are the updates of the OS. In the first year after the release of the phone you get the updates quickly, but in the second year they come... later. That's because Moto(Lenovo)rola focus on the most recent models, with the other models receiving the updates with months of delay.

I *really* like my Moto X Style and I am happy to have it, but I will think twice before buying a Motorola/Lenovo again.

I LOVE my OnePlus 3T. Never been more satisfied with a phone. I imagine the 5 would be the same.

I'll tell you the most underrated device :
SD 625, 4 gb RAM, 64gb ROM, dual camera( telephoto zoom lens), 5.5" FHD display, AND IT IS AN ANDROID ONE PHONE WITH A PROMISED ANDROID P update with stock android

Also, it's 230 US dollars

In this price range the Oneplus 5 makes this thing look like garbage.

I have an LG g6 and honestly I couldn't imagine using this Motorola for the same price. One is clearly a flagship and the other isn't. The 821 is a solid SOC and the screen on the LG is incomparable to the Motorola offering. I don't see myself carrying around those mods everywhere either. I'd rather have a more complete package out of the box

Hey guys I'd recommend adding the phone name to the title in some manor after the question mark. Great video though Eber.
