Thank you very much. I have a thru axel without a quick release and everyone was doing a video on the quick release version. I wasn't sure if I needed to get an Allen key shaped skewer for my thru axel to further secure it incase the wheel came out but after an hour you've made me feel much safer, Thanks a lot! I also have a Minatou fork, although the entry model :D

Just for info: 15 Newtonmeters is equal to 15 kg's of force on a 10 cm allen key. :-) (or the same force you need to lift 1½ buckets of water)

🤔does the front bolt through have a spacer on the axle, because my wheel sits slightly off by a 2mm👍?

My merida 120 comes with a skewer tool embeeded in the rear axel, pull it out and you can use it on the front or rear! On board tool!

How do you know which end to insert the Allen wrench? Don’t both ends have the cut out for it?

I have a boxxer fork with 110 by 20mm maxxle. It had a hex on both sides and seems like you are supposed to do the one side and then then other. I followed the instructions but the second side ( locking bolt I guess) didn’t seem to go in properly and then when I tried to unscrew the original side I stripped out the hex with my Allen key. As I was using the torque spec’s which was supposing high 120 lb feet. Anyway if you have info or video on proper use of one of those boxxer maxxles with the locking sides that would be helpful as I’d like to not damage the replace which I’ve just ordered and is on et $100

So, now I need to carry a hex key with me on the trail, ugh! Also, no need to grease the axle, the wheel isn't rotating on it.

It's 2022, and I just purchased a mint 2006 Norco Wolverine with Marzocchi bomber 888 vf 170mm travel, and it seems like the through axel bolt has either never been undone, and/or the previous owner over torqued the bolt. I managed to loosen the non disc side which came out as a male end nut, but the non drive side seems to be seized. I broke 2 multi tools, and bent 3 6mm Allen keys using a cheater bar to no avail, any other suggestions?
