The ILFORD SIMPLICITY range of film processing photo chemicals have been created for convenience and ease of use.

Ideal for photographers who are new to black and white film and want the confidence to try home processing as well as more experienced film users who don’t process regularly and don’t want to commit to larger bottles of photo chemicals.

A chart inside the kit with dilutions and times would be much appreciated

Ilford, I applaud you for bringing new film related products to market, no matter if I find it valuable to me or not. I love the innovation.

I think this is a fantastic idea to get more people involved in developing their own film. I think if more people did this, and their own darkroom prints come to that, they’d understand the magic of analogue photography better. When non film shooters talk about analogue photography the first thing they quote is the cost of developing at a lab. Of course I want labs to succeed as well. I just think there’s an untapped group out there that would use film if they knew how cheap the process can be, and they understood how easy it is.

Just used this for my first rolls, and they turned out beautifully ❤

This is an excellent idea for an E6 mini kit once slides are becoming hard to develop and expensive due to the lack of demand. Labs around here doesn't want to buy full galons of chemicals for just one or two rolls of chromos.

I am going to use this kit to get started with developing film at home. Seems very easy!

Great idea - needs to be more companies doing this to enable beginners or amateurs who don't shoot alot to be able to buy small amounts of chemicals. I wish Kodak would do this for colour too.

This is great, I have just got this simplicity kit. It is stated that the chemicals can be reused up to 8 times, so I wonder how to stored the solutions and what are the best practices for reusing your solutions.

Its not a bad idea depending on the cost ... might be good for someone who only does the occasional roll or to take while traveling if you wanted to process but do not have the room to carry
gallons of chemicals. Nothing wrong with having options.

I guess this is more for a casual photographer or someone who is new to developing?

Does anyone know if I can cut the amount of chemicals in half if I'm only developing one roll 35mm and then can I save the rest for later? Or do I have to develop 2 rolls of film?

Wow what an excellent idea and concept? Great work.

I'm a bit disappointed that the kit is only for one-time use, it doesn't really give you a chance to experiment if you screw things up the first time, I didn't realize this when I bought it. Also my thermometer doesn't work for some reason, it's just stuck at the top regardless of the water temperature.

Dear Ilford Photo - Can you remove your negative under the red-light of a darkroom or does it have to be completely pitch black?

Yes, the main question is: are the chemicals reusable?

Interesting concept for someone that only develops a few rolls every once in a while. For traveling I'd rather see a pouch that holds 600ml with the concentrate preloaded. All you need to do is add the water to the pouch, seal, shake and you're ready to pour into the film tank. If you want to save the stop and fix just pour it back into the pouch.

can I use the chemicals over again a few times or is it for single time use?
