We are not a democracy, but a constitutional republic which values individual freedom. That's why we are about our strong military.

I’ve heard plenty of theories of why America became so insanely productive in its first century. Plentiful resources, secure borders, rapid industrialisation. But the most interesting is Rivers. Midwest America has several navigable rivers into the interior. Before the invention of railroads America had huge highways right into its middle. These rivers allowed rapid expansion and ease of transit that opened up its resources and growth at a stunning rate.

The military budget is not the biggest factor. The biggest factor is how and why they fight. In Russia and China the military's first goal over anything else is to keep the leaders in power over any other consideration including the lives of its military personal. The US's goal is to finish the fight as fast as possible trying to take as few casualties as possible.

So grateful for my country the United States work tirelessly day in and out to keep us safe. Yes we pay a lot of money for the protection but so many brave men and women are working together for our safety to get up start our coffee flip on the TV and enjoy a peaceful life that not everyone unfortunately has . Im so grateful for our military 🇺🇸 Im blessed to live in USA

4:35 15-20 years behind? The F22 first flew in 1997. China isn't anywhere close to that. So more like 40 years behind the US, even with some stolen tech. There are arguments that even with the know how, they lack the manufacturing capability to make an F22 equivalent. Recently they were caught trying to bribe a Taiwanese Chinook pilot into defecting because they still can't make engines with the power to weight ratio to make a Chinook. The Chinook was introduced in the 1960s.

The US Government undoubtedly has incredible tech and weapons that even Americans don't know about yet. While the Russians are using rusty AKs they dug up out of the ground and the North Korean soldiers are dropping dead from starvation.

America has the might and power but that doesn't mean we should. As a American I can say we have war fatigue. I'm 52 and as long as I can remember we have been at war. We need to work on America not fighting other countries.

A country's economy is it's biggest weapon, and the US hasn't invested much more than 3% of their GDP even during conflicts such as Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, and Afghanistan. Thus, despite all the associated journalism, the US objectively didn't bother to invest much into these endeavors. That their attitude was "if all it costs the country is a few bucks a few hundred to several tens of thousands of dead service members to take a shot at something, what the heck" was pretty crappy. Nevertheless, it also means that if you make the mistake of putting the US onto a war footing against you with 3% increasing to over 2/3rds of its economy mobilizing for war, you better have made an alliance with a highly advanced alien species if you want to avoid being crushed into the dirt.

Partly because America has a strong economy and a very strong military.
