Google Cloud Security Tip #4: Workload Identity Federation

Google Cloud security can be confusing for a newbie!. That's why we're creating a new series of shorts where we explain one new GCP security concept each day.

Today's tip is about Workload Identity Federation. This is a feature that lets you ditch access keys and so your external application can authenticate using an identity provider like AWS, Azure, or SAML 2.0. GCP will give you a short-lived access token, which impersonates a service account, and has all the permissions of that account.
