Thank you for viewing this video on Sky Scholar! This channel is dedicated to new ideas about the nature of the sun, the stars, thermodynamics, and the microwave background. We will discuss all things astronomy, physics, chemistry, and imaging related! We hope that the combination of facts and special effects will aid in learning even the toughest concepts in astronomy. If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe. Sky Scholar will be releasing at least one video per week to make sure you don’t run out of content!

Pierre-Marie Robitaille, Ph.D., is a professor of radiology at The Ohio State University. He also holds an appointment in the Chemical Physics Program. In 1998, he led the design and assembly of the world’s first Ultra High Field MRI System. This brought on the need to question fundamental aspects of thermal physics, including ideas related to Kirchhoff’s Law of thermal emission, and more. These presentations are not endorsed by The Ohio State University.

Guys i am 13 years old, and I want to become a cosmologist and I think this sky scholar is a platform where I can explore cosmos and learn very easily.... I think this will make my dream of becoming a cosmologist ture...!!

My Gosh,
Such clarity!
I wish this was a standard when I was younger!
THANK YOU ❤️

Too simple, ... you'll never confuse enough people to get the Nobel unless you sound a lot smarter than they are!
Thanks again Steve and Pierre!!

So it was Einstein, over 100 years ago, who started the modern trend of discarding logic when making a logical proof. That explains a lot. Great video.

I had done a proof that was almost exactly the same while formulating my thoughts on paper and reached the same conclusion. The idea of warping space and time stems from treating time as a spacial dimension and is absolutely absurd. You can't warp nothingness. My interpretation of relativity has sense then been that the so-called "curvature of spacetime" is actually a map of gravitational potential and rate of energy propagation through an electromagnetic field; which is not only light, but also molecular and subatomic forces.

Well said. I am an engineer and have noted for a long time the use of 'rubber' maths. This rubber math can be twisted and turned until you get the answer you require. It also removes any requirement for verifiable results or following correct math. I, however have to do my sums correctly or the machines could not be built and if the they could would produce so very strange things indeed. How would Cat955 work in four dimensions etc

I have thought for some time that spacetime is nothing more than a mathematical description of what we see and measure, not a physical function of the universe. Mathematics is just a language of numbers and can only describe what we see using numbers, just as we use verbal language to use the word "tree" to describe, well, what we call a tree. The universe itself is not based on mathematics. And I believe time is a mental construct, but that's another stroy.

Mass time not space time. That's what my stepfather always said. This was one of the few scientists he had respect for. Thanks for the video.

The key statement to understand this occurs at time 5:00 in this video. I repeat it. In order for there to be four dimensions, each dimension has to be independent of the others. Special relativity (SR) says that they are not independent but dependent. The fundamental problem is since SR says they are dependent time can not be a fourth dimension, since it must be independent to be a fourth dimension. In the old Newtonian theory time is considered independent and so time is a fourth dimension. This is ironic, since SR is supposed to claim that time is a fourth dimension. Actually that is misleading and a source of confusion since in SR time is a dependent function of space and vice versa.

The truth is simple. When somebody makes it complicated, he tries to hide something. Thank you for your work!

This guy is the best. Crothers is the alpha male underdog of relativity physics. You will get a statue someday, and a head bust :)

I think Einstein once said consensus has no place in science. Wish we'd embrace that logic.

It made never any sense to me to glue a 3-dimensional signed vector "space" with an unsigned scalar "time" ... into "spacetime" ... creating a new level of complexity by introducing this 4-dimensional tensor. A clear disregard to Ockham's razor !
