Getting "Worldwise": Courageous Teaching to Transform our Classrooms for a Post-COVID World
Carla Marschall

During this time of social and ecological uncertainty, how can education be a humanizing force that prepares students as knowledgeable, compassionate, and engaged local and global citizens? As we begin our school year, this webinar explores ways that we can support our students in meeting the challenges and opportunities of living in our complex, interconnected post-COVID world. In particular, it will consider the role of learning aimed to nurture students’ global competence, or knowledge, skills, conceptual understandings, and dispositions needed to understand and act on complex human and environmental challenges. This is supported in democratic classrooms where students have ownership over their learning, authentic opportunities for decision making, and high levels of agency. As we start the year, let's ensure our diverse students are seen, inspired, and empowered to create positive change in their communities and beyond.
