Wow, great questions, footage and very nice of Jack Gill to share so much of the backside stories! Funny thing is, back then I just enjoyed the story telling done by very well cut together shots (and the authentic looking romantic scenes). The story of the sleek sports car, doing everything in conjunction with a good vs evil story and sympathic David Hasselhoff backed up by a hidden team in a truck really hit the spot for me back then. When I rewatched many episodes some years ago I was stunned, how well made the car stunt scenes were actually made from my more experienced view as an hobby offroad driver. To me this seemed only possible to be done by an exceptionelly well working together team. Hearing from Jack Gill that it was indeed like that makes my heart melt in joy ! Thank you for this insights !

I knew that Jack worked on Knight Rider, but I never knew that he worked on the Dukes of Hazzard. Now I get why the General Lee was referenced in Knight Rider so much.

Very very cool! I have always had such a high respect for stuntman and the risk they put themselves in. Next interview it would be awesome to recall some of the work they did to the cars. I remember in the DVD set interviews Jack Gill said there was a burnout car, a car with a big engine. Those little details would be really cool to learn of and see him recollect.

New Knight Rider film and franchise would be indeed awesome to see, hopefully with as many original cast & crew members as possible, KITT as '82 Trans-Am included 🙂
Trans-Am of course was present day car back in the 80's, but looked futuristic, and KITT even more futuristic.
Now it's difficult to find similar car from today's cars, when a lot of them are SUV's and Crossovers. Secondly, what is even "futuristic" today, when we've seen already really amazing things in technology and pretty wild car design, so maybe original '82 KITT is still the best choice after all :)

Really interesting interview. I thought the fliver car was used all the time. It looks like a car frame with a jelly mould of a kitt car on top. And wobbles like a rubber band.

Regarding the Charger jump, I had always assumed it was the rubber bodied buggy stunt car the way the whole trunk bent down at the rear wheel arch on landing. That's brutal.

Yes there are a lot of people building kitt replicas. But finding a donor car is getting more difficult??
