I really like how they don't only talk about the main topic but also talk about the other people who have experienced similar issues.

PSA: If you wake up completely deaf on one side, go straight to an ENT. It is almost certainly sudden sensorineural hearing loss, and most walk-in clinics will assume your ear just has fluid on it and will send you home to go permanently deaf instead of giving you the steroid injections you need. Do it for my barely-functional right ear.

I love how in this video you're able to hear how they change things in the sound so that you can experience these certain things. Very nice.

I'm 40 and could hear the mosquito perfectly. I've been tested in hearing studies at uni several times and was told my hearing was very good for my age.
Very interesting content as always. Keep up the excellent work!

My brother has the exact opposite frequency issue and often has trouble or can't hear my sister in law or nieces but has no problem hearing deeper voices.

I remember as a kid that my mom took me to the local clinic because I stopped responding when she would call me upstairs (my room was in the basement), and I "didn't hear" her so much she got worried. I just got really, really good at ignoring her cause she called me ALL THE TIME for errands or whatnot.... got tired of it. My hearing was just fine, lol

I know what loosing hearing in one ear is like. I once had a really bad ear infection in one ear and I could barely hear on that side. You'd be surprised how much we usually rely on stereo sound

I've always had sensitivity to high freq sounds. When I was little my parents thought I was weird because I could hear all the CRT Tv's in the house "whistling" even when the volume was turned all the way down. Even now at almost 40 y/o that "Mosquito" device they featured in the video hurt my brain.

I guess you could say selective hearing at its finest.

My neighbors installed a squirrel repellant device in their backyard and were very surprised when we asked about it the next day because both my dad and I could hear the dammed mosquito tone in our own house

This is crazy.. I was recently hospitalized for systemic lupus (an autoimmune disease), and had a crazy amount going on with me. One of the weird, unexplained side effects, was that in my hospital bed I could hear someone gently typing and clicking on a computer very far away as if it was right under my pillow. it eventually went away, but god it drove me crazy! I had no idea how it was possible, this is really interesting!

I used to be able to hear a dog whistle, only until last year after a bad illness. I don't mind it tho. Dog whistles are such an annoying high pitch sound.
I liked how the sounds were changing at certain points in the video. I could tell so that's good.

The ending is so relatable 😂

I've been trying a lot harder to be more conscious of my hearing over the past couple years. If I don't focus on a conversation, I can miss hearing something being said directly to me. Or if there's other conversations happening at normal volume I'll miss things more often than I used to.

I’ve been able to hear the mosquito noise for 28 years…. It always was a joke to myself that I was still young……… I couldn’t hear it in this video…….. It’s happened, I’ve caught the OLD….. It’s only a matter of time now.

I’m hard of hearing since I was a little girl. I always have to go to my doctor at least once a month. I do hearing tests only once a year to see if anything changed. My doctor told me that I don’t hear low sounds so well. That means I struggle to hear male voices. I didn’t know that until he told me that and it all made sense. I’m happy to see that some people on this platform do these kind of videos. It helps me a lot because I don’t feel so alone anymore.
