Darlene Zschech - Blessed Savior, Fount of Grace

Показать описание
This is a song from the wonderful CD "Blessed Assurance - The New Hymns of Fanny Crosby." If you've ever sung songs from a church hymnal (not that churches do that much anymore, but I remember it from my childhood. The previous church I attended did have a bunch of hymnals, but the only thing they were used for was to prop up the wooden racetrack at the AWANA Grand Prix once a year.) The story behind this CD is that a few years ago some old poems that Fanny Crosby had written were discovered. The poems had never been set to music. So this project was undertaken to have some modern Christian musicians add the music and record the songs. It's a very unique album which I highly recommend. Artists include Meredith Andrews, Matt Redman, Paul Baloche, Michael W. Smith, and many others. This particular song is by Darlene Zschech of Hillsong fame, called "Blessed Savior, Fount of Grace." The arrangement is by Krissy Nordhoff (she wrote the song "Your Great Name", made popular by Natalie Grant) and Michael Farren.
(Interesting fact about Fanny that I did not know. In her life she penned over 8,000 hymns. Many publishers of hymnals were hesitant to include too many songs by one single prolific artist, so during her life she used over 200 pseudonyms.)
