Walk to Egremni Beach after the earthquake

We walked down to Egremni Beach on Aug 3, 2016 in the morning.

Just drive to Egremni road as usual, there will be no entry signs at the last fork, but you can drive a few kilometers after that without any problem. Park your car and continue on foot. The path can be demanding and scary at some points, so be well prepared. If you are faint hearted, think twice. If you are not fit enough, think twice. Do not wear slippers, wear shoes. In slippers you won't be able to go down, I'm quite sure of that or at least it's extremely risky.

The way down to Egremni took us around 25 minutes in a normal walking pace. The walk back up to the car took around 45 minutes with a few stops.

Köszi a feltöltést, nagyon klassz felvétel, szinte odavarázsoltál, még felvételről is reális élményt nyújt, mivel személyesen nem jutottam oda, hogy megnézzem a pusztítást.

I've been to Egremni beach, swimming from Gialos beach wich is accessible by the car. People can get there by boat trips. It's unrecognizable.

The road is very different now. The car lane is build until the stairs part, but unfortunately the stairs are in far worse condition than in this video. The last part where the rope is to be used, no visible stairs can be seen anymore. This bit was very scary as the ground in very unstable, but I did manage to go down and up in flip flops. I highly recommend to wear sneakers.

We tried to get to this beach yesterday but there is no longer such access. There's a massive fence with yellow warning signs on and no path whatsoever to get through.

There is not such a great difference between Egremni Gialos beach Megali Petra or Mylos and is the same water, (west coast), what always makes the difference is how pure they can leave the place without beach bars, umbrellas and beach chairs....Kathisma was wonderful and now it is unrecognizable...if you go to Egremni by boat and hundreds of people show up the place will look like hell instead of paradise

Egremni road is still closed this year, if anyone is interested, no visible improvement since last year.

It's only accessible by boat - otherwise it's too dangerous. So sad to see the best beach in the world ruined by a fucking earthquake :(

Ez egy kicsit aktualisabb...
This is a bit more relevant, Aug 2019.
