What's funny is that when Zeon created the GM Camouf, they didn't know that "GM" was pronounced "Jim", so canonically, they called it the "Gim" Camouf with a hard "G"

the funniest part is they were discontinued after an incident where GM Camoufs and captured Gefangener GMs repainted to original colors managed to take a Federation unit by surprise, but a Zeon unit in the area mistook them for the GMs of the damaged ship and wiped the "survivors" out.

Fun Fact: This is similar to something that happened during WWII. Germany had the idea to drum up troops who could speak English dress in recovered American uniforms and try to cause chaos behind American lines. They even tried to disguise a few Panther Tanks as American M10 tank destroyers by welding on armor and reshaping the hulk. Unfortunately, the plan quickly fell apart because there were too few troops that could speak passable English, and of those, even fewer that could do a believable American accent. As for the Ersatz M10's, as the disguised Panthers eventually came to be called, they never really saw much use and probably wouldn't have been that effective a disguise because of the difference in American armor vs German Armor.
