Uber should have let the driver know that a rider left a personal item in the driver's vehicle. Uber should have asked the driver IF they wanna give the rider the driver's phone number, AFTER the driver has check their vehicle. That is just very creepy for a rider to lie to Uber about a lost item

Uber should have done this:
1. Let the driver know the rider lost an item.
2. Let the driver look for the lost item.
3. If Yes, then Uber can give the rider the phone number
A. If no, then Uber will let the rider know that the driver didn't find the item that they've lost.

It seems Uber/Lyft only cares about money and not us drivers.

I remember in the past, when riders left items in my vehicle, Uber support would ask whether it's okay to share my number with the customer. This one is very weird.

I remember a driver who had a passenger who showed up at his house unannounced. The passenger had left his phone in the car and used find my phone to track it down. No call or message through Uber about a lost item to avoid the lost item fee. Just showed up. Freaked me the F out when I heard about it. I became super militant about reminding passengers to make sure they have everything when they exit the vehicle. I rarely have any lost items and still get those dumb messages. It is such a pain to have to deal with. No Karen, I don't have your sunglasses. Funny thing is I have a few forgotten items no one ever claimed.

Never answer your phone unless it's your family member! Period! Uber or Lfyt will text you anyways if a rider left an item.

Yeah that’s pretty screwed up the Uber will give out your personal phone number to a rider because they say they lost something even if they did it. I’m gonna have to check my app and see what you’re talking about.

On uber, it's an option on the found item report itself if you want to allow uber to give out your number

Just had a lost item, in my case Uber sent a message asking me if it was ok to pass on my number. Lyft had them connect through a masked number. Lyft was about 20 minutes after the ride ended. Sound like the case on your video was days later.

It Uber that you can make the settings which only shows the masked numbers and you have the option if you want to turn it off. Still ridiculous as I have had stalkers also

Someone found me on Facebook because my name is so unusual very unique the way my name is spelled it was a real pain in the ass and I blocked that person on Facebook

When placing a call on Uber - you get 2 options DATA or CELLUAR . I chose cellular and noticed that my cellphone automatically put the customers private number into the call app.

If i hit the call button the passenger would have received my private number as well.
