NASA's work to align the James Webb Space Telescope is extending to more instruments.

Following the release of a stunning image of a single star by James Webb Space Telescope officials, the team is now preparing to align other telescope components with the observatory's mirrors.
According to a NASA on March 17, the work will begin with the guiding instrument known as the Fine Guidance Sensor and then progress to the other three instruments. Webb engineers anticipate that the “multi-instrument multi-field alignment” process will take six weeks to complete.
The $10 billion telescope's near-infrared camera was successfully aligned, as evidenced by the star image. However, the observatory still needs to be able to switch between four other instruments with perfect alignment in order to obtain sharp images of distant objects.
The new alignment's goal is to provide good focus and sharp images while understanding the relative positions of each instrument's field of view.
