WAIT... Remember Buzz Lightyear of Star Command?

Ah, to infinity and beyond we go as we talk about why you may barely remember Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. A show that would give us a look into the real Buzz Lightyear and not just the toy version in the Toy Story series. Can't wait to see what the Buzz Lightyear film next year, Lightyear, brings us in terms of callbacks to this show!

I remember this show very well, actually. I loved how “Saturday morning” it felt on Toon Disney. It was originally on UPN/ABC but I remember the reruns on Toon Disney a smidgen better.

I genuinely wonder what Pixar's opinion on Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is currently, given that their own attempt with Lightyear is tanking and only making people revere the show more and more.

I don't remember much about this show's plot, but i _vividly_ remember all the character designs extremely well. and some of the basic concepts and dynamics. it may not have been the best show, but it was memorable in some ways for sure.

I am kind of praying that they go this route. XR was hilarious, Booster was a funny but noble and charming, and Princess Mira Nova was badass (just don't look up google images).

I remember *one* episode from this show: The Wire Wolf. Because it was the most badass thing I'd ever seen. A robot werewolf that rips technology apart to build its werewolf form.

I will never understand why Disney didn't give this show the attention it deserves. Especially considering Buzz is one of their most popular characters.

If they ever change their minds and release it on DVD, I'd buy it day one.

I definitely remember watching this show whenever it had reruns on Disney channel, and it’s an absolute mystery to me that it isn’t on Disney + yet .

Feel bad knowing that after watching the 2022 movie that the show movie Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins felt more in line with what it should have been. Also didn't help that one of the plot of the 2022 movie was done better in the 2000 movie. Case in point if you had watch the show/was born during that time, you might not like the 2022 movie.

I have vivid memories of watching episodes of this show compiled on dvd, and of playing the game on Dreamcast. I loved “Mira Nova” and the fact that she went on to voice Shego, Supergirl, and Scorpia

I enjoy both adaptations of Buzz’s origin. My head canon is that Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is the actual show/movie Andy Grew up watching, and that the new Lightyear is the in universe gritty reboot.


I will say that if I had to choose one, I’d go with BLOSC. I remember watching the movie hundreds of times as a little kid and having a crush on Princess Mira. Though Lightyear still has some charm.
