Biden Picks Dr. Rahul Gupta as Drug Czar, First Physician in the Position

President Joe Biden has selected Dr. Rahul Gupta as the country’s drug czar. He’s the first doctor to take on the role. BNC’s Justice Correspondent Candace Kelley joins “Start Your Day” to talk about Biden’s pick and what it means for the legalization of marijuana on a national level.

“Here they're really making an effort to move the needle, to put this doctor in place who has helped the state of West Virginia deal with this issue,” Kelley says.

Also, Kelley talks about the White House’s comments on Sha’Carri Richardson and if the government should have done more to help get the sprinter back on the U.S. Olympic team.
