I had a friendship that was like this. We lived really close by and our families were friends so we saw each other often. It was all flirting and fun when we were alone and he made me feel butterflies, but there was so much distance when we were with other people and eventually I had to watch on the sidelines as he went in and out of relationships waiting for the times in between when he’d suddenly have an interest in me again.

He probably sounds like a jerk and I was a definitely delulu, but he really helped me through some of the toughest times in my life and it really carved a hole in my heart that made me always hope that he would come to his senses and pick me. But news flash, it never happened. Eventually I settled my losses and started looking for happiness in other places. It’s funny that when I stopped trying so hard to be noticed that I finally caught someone else’s attention and actually got all the love and affection I was craving for so long.

Today I’m married and so is he so there’s no awkward feelings left or any weirdness, but watching this short film was like revisiting a part of my life I had buried and put away where I had forgotten about it. Reliving all those feelings of giddy love, excitement, sadness, longing, loneliness, and finally acceptance after so long gives me a chance to see how hard that time was for me and far I’ve come since then.

I hope this film gives people like us hope that there will be a time when your heart stops aching and you can give yourself permission to let go and find joy and peace in what the future holds. Hang in there friends, there’s always a rainbow waiting after the storm ends ♥️🌧️🌈

I love how this ends with a song about peace and acceptance and not bitterness, it’s a full journey of ecstasy, hope, doubt, resolve, disappointment, guilt, sadness, and finally acceptance that sometimes you as people just don’t belong together, and that’s okay. It’s just such a beautiful story and it gives me so much hope, that even after pain and heartbreak we can move on and start again 🫶💕 one of my most favorite album/EPs ever, thanks Lyn
