Your channel is what the history channel should've been. Educational, informative, yet presented in a captivating way. Keep up the great work!

Ivan IV's title wasn't the "Terrible". The Russian word "Грозный" means "Fearsome"

This is so interesting! I was sad when I looked at the date and saw how new the video was :( hopefully that doesn't mean the wait for the rest of the series will be super long. These videos definitely do make history epic. Thank you and I can't wait for more! I'm subscribing

hey guys I am from India. I love the history of Russia. it's very interesting. from the duchy of muscovite to a grand empire. ultimately it became a giant. then the giant falls at the hand of flock of sheep called revolution. which end monarchy and gave birth to U.S.S.R. Russia produced some fascinating stories like war and peace, mother, Dr. zhivago etc. It's monarchs like Ivan the terrible, Peter the great, chatrine the great were famous still today. In the end I want to say I love you Russia.

Great job guys.I admire your work. And not to mention that your channel has the best narrator, whose voice is by far more engaging than other's youtoube history channel voices and this is very important because the description of history becomes more thrilling.Thank you and keep going!!!

Also, Ivan the "terrible" was not actually called so in Russian. Westerners probably call him terrible because he wanted to spread Russian civilization. He was known as Ivan the Grozny (Grozny meaning fearsome)

@5:38 Ivan IV was no more _terrible_ than other monarchs in Europe. in fact in Russia he's known as Ivan Grozni, which means Ivan the Formidable or Redoutable, formidable/redoutable opponent. The German writer who _translated_ to Terrible was either an ignorant or an agent of propaganda for the Pope, I thing it was Pope Gregory XIII  who could not wait to see  Orthodox Russia under his papal authority. Ivan IV has always politely turned down the Pope's _offer._  Ivan IV was the most educated of all the European monarchs of his time. Also his main internal enemies were the Boyards ==> Russian aristocrats.

Absolutely fantastic ... and the way you have replied reasonably and fairly to heated commenters speaks to your rational mind. I hope you make as many of these videos as possible.

It was not Ukraine in Russia at the beginning, it was full one state, not Russia and Ukraine separately.

This is what i'd imagine the history channel would be like if it was good.
