It’s amazing how you start the show hating Flynn and then realise he is the one that got screwed. They took a good man lost in his grief over the loss of his wife and child and then gave him hope he could get them back by doing a few bad things. The end justifying the means but they never told him he wouldn’t get that ending instead he ends up sacrificing himself so they all get the happy endings it’s so sad

Even tho he knew he couldn't get his family back, he did all those things just to make things how they were supposed to be for that specific timeline to happen, i busted into tears knowing the fact that he is a sacrifice and he knows it by the sad hopeless look on his face..

A perfect scene, everyone has waited for this all along. But why Lucy never changed some of the parts in her diary to give Flynn a better understandig of things to come to be able to treat History itself more with care. After all in the end she knew that the man did not understood everything in it. That should work by Heisenberg´s concept that an observed object or event changes in the process itself. At least she could have added a commentary to the diary

Every time I see this it reminds me that Flynn knew he would never get his family back and still did all the right things he could. He’s in an endless loop where he gets to see his family only for a moment before dying and then being tortured again. It makes me cry every goddamn time.

It's like the saying

'you either die a Hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain' in Flynn's case he was both. A villain with a Hero's heart and complicated legacy.

I think Flynn is still alive and Lucy changed the past and future here and created timeline 3 because she told him he won’t get his family back.The whole time in the show he was doing whatever it takes to get him back. So he either knew the whole time in the show that he was never going to get them or this is the start of timeline 3.Where Flynn is alive.

There is no loop...future Lucy gives the notebook to past Flynn once, then her life continues. Flynn already suspected the time machine existed, so probably there was an original timeline where he discovers and steals the mothership to wipe Rittenhouse. However that presumably went to shit, maybe that's the timeline where from future Wyatt and Lucy visited the main timeline. And Lucy clearly creates the notebook in the timeline that went to shit, so she knows a way of creating a more or less ideal outcome, which is the timeline presented in the series.

Wondering if Flynn could have taken the place of his younger self and that actually Lucy’s Flynn. He leaned into her kiss, he was worried about her with the head pains.
