Parallel Universes: ISS destroyed in January 2031 #shorts
Показать описание
Even with mounting safety concerns, NASA has decided to extend the lifespan of the space station until 2031. But while the space station has served humanity well, it can't continue forever.
NASA has announced plans for the International Space Station (ISS) to be officially decommissioned in 2031. After dozens of launches since 1998 got the station up and into orbit, bringing it down will be a feat of its own — the risks are serious if things go wrong.
The ISS will be crashed into the Pacific Ocean near Point Nemo in 2031. The cost of building and operating the ISS is estimated to be around $150 billion.
NASA has laid out its plan to decommission and deorbit the International Space Station (ISS) by 2031. Commercial replacement facilities are expected to step in before that time, allowing NASA to maintain a constant human presence in low-Earth orbit.
The plan: According to NASA's report, the plan is to send the ISS plunging through Earth's atmosphere in January 2031.
Whatever happens in the next few years, the ISS is now nearing the end of its life. Leading up to 2030, NASA plans to lower the station's orbit slowly, before allowing it to crash into an uninhabited area of the Southern Pacific Ocean in 2031.
