A crowd gathers in front of the "PMC Wagner Centre" in Saint Petersburg to pay tribute to Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner mercenary group. According to Russian officials, Prigozhin was on board a plane that crashed north-west of the capital Moscow on August 23, leaving no survivors -- the crash comes two months after he launched a short-lived rebellion against President Vladimir Putin.

Prigozhin was a loose cannon and he could be easily influenced by others. I think Russians would prefer to deal with him after their imminent victory in Ukraine. MI6 on the other hand that probably was behind that failed coup attempt needed him silenced. Anyway the way the West reacted to his death immediately blaming Putin shows that probably Putin had nothing to do with it.
