This is why messi and ronaldo continue to be the best players in the world at even in their mid 30s, because are incredibly talented but also work hard as heck.

Zlatan is 40 years old and still a beast. Top level for 20 years and counting.

Hazard in the cover be like:Can't a man just enjoy his big mac at a training session peacefully. Okay maybe a bit too much to enjoy.

Another one is Adriano. Man, he was a beast and had amazing technique. He started misbehaving after his father's death, so the root cause was psychological, but he brought it into the job by drinking. He ruined his career, he could have become one of the best of all times.

this just makes me respect messi and ronaldo even more because in ronaldo's case he is known for training like a machine. he worked so hard to perfect his skills. in messi's case people regard him as "god-gifted" but often forget that without the hard work and determination in training he won't have reached the level of where he is today.

For me, it was very painful to see Ronaldinho Gaucho decline that way. On the other hand, if he wasn't easy going and fun loving, he wouldn't be Ronaldinho.

You could say Dinho would be the GOAT if he took his career serious or had a sharp decline from his peak, but you can't say he ruined his career. Ruining a career would be players with undisputed, high ceilings but never achieved the ultimate peaks in the sport because of their own lack of dedication. How could Dinho ruin his career if he won all the most difficult trophies there were available for him to win?

Ballon D'or
WC
Confederations
Copa America
Champions League
Libertadores
Spanish Champion
Italian Champion

Name any other player with all of these. Dinho had a better career than every other player other than a handful of players in the history of the sport.

Balotelli was a madman in a club like Manchester city he could have became a legend but he chose not to and ruined his career

If hazard’s career is ‘ruined’ I can’t even imagine how good he might have been. Best player in the prem in at least 3 season

Ronaldinho is a harsh example, the guy is one of the best in history who started out as a bin man, he also coached messi as a youngster

Hard work will always beat talent if talent does not work hard, it is as simple as that 💪

Cassano: 4 trophies? I’m a flop

Kane: ah yes, trophies, hehe

Ronaldinho achieved a lot, and was a great player. I think he was just done, and didn't feel the need to prove himself anymore.

If Ronaldinho was hard working as Christiano Ronaldo he would have won 12 Ballon D'ors in a row

Sneijder is a great example. Incredible talent. However, he said himself he was over weight and an alcoholic. In the end, it got so bad, van gaal took his captains armband and told him him he is off the roster unless he gets hi act together before the 2014 wk. Turned out to be the MVP of the Dutch team that year featuring Robben and rvp.
Still it made his career end quick and sour which is a shame. Such a player.
