I don't understand how I can cry about two pups that I have never meet.

This brings tears to my eyes. I saw it when it was posted but had to revisit Key and Jamie's last play date. I always marveled at how much Key loved Jamie, he would be beside himself whenever Jamie came to see him. Sherpa would burst through the door to find the Biscuit Lady and demand his treat while Key would run back to Jamie at least three times for pets and hugs. It would stop because Sherpa would have quickly hustled the Biscuit Lady into the kitchen; then it was a stern "butts on the floor" from her before treats were given.

For me it started with a random K'eush the Stunt Dog video which led to Sherpa. Soon I was enthralled by the pair of lovable howling and mischievous snow dogs. I'm a cat person, but it's well known that Huskies or Malamutes are really cats in dog bodies. With Sherpa and Key each have unique and charismatic personalities; together they reached a level of charm and sheer adorableness that few will ever match and none will supersede. They are legends and will continue to touch hearts even as they rest in another place. Their legacy is bright and will shine on.

Although I know the crushing pain of loss that Jodie and her mother are experiencing, and is still lingering in Jamie's life, I turn my heart and mind to a beautiful inner knowing that the best friends are together forever. At some point February the third, thundering paws crossed over with K'eyush announcing his arrival with a dramatic roll and howling "K'eyush is here" to Sherpa who waited with dancing paws for his beloved friend. Goodbye sweet one, enjoy your rest for your work is done.

The loss of both Sherpa and Key is just devastating. I can't imagine what you and Jodie are going through. My heart breaks for you both. 😢

My dog still looks for her "boyfriend" every time we visit his humans. They saw each other several times a month for almost 10 years. Best of buddies. It's been over a year since he passed and she looks for him. I swear she sees his spirit. ❤

Jamie, I’m so glad you were able to visit Key. But it breaks my heart every time he goes to the door looking for Sherpa. It’s so sweet when you kneel down and hug Key.
