Duke of Sussex announces Meghan has given birth to baby boy

Prince Harry has announced that his wife, Meghan the Duchess of Sussex has given birth to a baby boy.

Harry made a statement to the said both he and Megan are ‘absolutely thrilled’ and that he is "over the moon".

The palace confirmed the Duke of Sussex was by Her Royal Highness’ side when she went into labour in the early hours of 6th May 2019. It has been confirmed that Meghan gave birth at 5.26am and that the baby weighs 7lbs 3oz.

Meghan's mother Doria is also now at Frogmore Cottage with the couple and the palace announced that "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news."

In the statement from Prince Harry, he said they have not picked a name yet but as the baby was overdue they have had some time to think about it. They plan to give the public the first look at the new royal baby boy in two days time.

Both mother and baby are doing well.
