The New Color Film Situation

Ilford (or an offshoot of ilford) has made (or contracted Invisotech to make) a new (rebadged) film stock with all new vintage tones (what does that mean) and I took some photos with it and here are my thoughts.

I’m pretty sure this just nc400 yeah. I do want some NC400 for super 8 and 16mm though

I used this film on holiday and it added a fun dreamy lo-fi feel to it. Though that could have been the plastic disposable lens too.

I shot one roll and wasn’t wowed so don’t think I’ll bother again as it’s not really my thing. Muted is ok in the right situations I guess but even though that’s what I was hoping for with the particular shoot I used it for - but didn’t offer anything else of interest. Definitely not landscape film IMO. I am though just thankful that we have film options.

I’ve found that nc500 really lends itself to dslr scanning. Purpose built film scanners don’t seem to know what to make of it.

Seen a lot a of videos of this film stock coming up the last weeks, but here In Europe it has been around for ages

So im just wondering if this just now has arrived in USA?
